Donate to help Ukraine

The credit union philosophy of people helping people is a driving force not only for the GLCU team, but for our members as well. GLCU, along with credit unions across the country, stands strong with the people of Ukraine and is committed to providing support in their time of need.

Members — like you — can help us aid the people of Ukraine by contributing to the Credit Union Relief Fund for Ukraine. Credit unions from across the country have teamed up to contribute to the relief fund, raising funds for supplies, medicine, and emergency relief money to help Ukrainians suffering the devastating war on their country and people.

Chris Doner, President of Credit Union Relief Fund for Ukraine, said, “In May, I made a trip to Ukraine to deliver supplies, medicine, and money to individuals effected by the ongoing war. We heard from our friends in Ukraine that L-Thyroxine was not available. People could not find it anywhere, so we brought in L-Thyroxine and filled a gap.”

Thryroxine is a hypothyroidism medicine that individuals weren’t able to gain access to during the current conflict. With the help of credit unions from the US, suffering Ukrainians were able to receive their necessary medication, along with other supplies that are in high demand in the country.

Steven Bugg, GLCU President & CEO, and foundation member, played an instrumental role in establishing the fund and is grateful to see it in action. “Together, with members like you amplifying our efforts, we are committed to making a difference. In times like these, any contribution can help change a life. This is just another example of how Great Lakes Credit Union lives the credit union mantra of, “People Helping People.”

Whenever you donate to the Credit Union Relief Fund for Ukraine, your donation goes directly to help its citizens.

GLCU is proud to be one of the credit unions not only contributing to, but also serving as a founder of this initiative thanks to CEO Steven Bugg’s efforts.

GLCU has been a long-established not-for-profit within our communities, empowering our neighbors through robust volunteerism, scholarships, donations, free financial literacy resources, and more. In our eyes, Ukrainians too, are our neighbors. Help us make a difference.
