Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) has partnered with Berkley-based Access Softek, Inc., to improve the online account opening process for its members.

New and existing members can open an account with GLCU online from anywhere, at anytime, while benefiting from new features that enhance usability, including a five-minute application process, an intuitive user interface, and the ability to select from a variety of products and services directly in the application. Members can also authenticate their account easily using biometrics, such as a fingerprint or by using Face ID. Finally, members now have additional options to help fund their new account, including a credit or debit card.

“Our busy members are looking for a seamless banking experience that enables them to accomplish their financial goals while they are going about their everyday lives,” said Patrick Basler, Chief Experience Officer at GLCU. “We listen to member feedback and work hard to make their requests a reality.”

This collaboration is the latest milestone in GLCU's ongoing commitment to enhancing its member experience. In recent months, GLCU has embarked on a series of member-centric fintech investments that demonstrate their dedication to providing cutting-edge financial services.

In May, GLCU teamed up with Incusiv and Citi to expand its free ATM network to over 2,300 locations in the United States.

In August, GLCU partnered with Access Softek to migrate their call center to Amazon Web Services (AWS) Connect, enhancing both member and agent experience, and teamed up with interface.ai to launch “Olive,” a call center virtual assistant which leverages conversational AI to route calls, enable banking transactions, and reduce member wait times.

With each of these investments and continuous improvements, Great Lakes Credit Union reaffirms its commitment to delivering exceptional service and convenience to its members.

“Our partnership with Access Softek is allowing us to not just meet but to exceed our members' expectations, and I’m proud to be part of a team that is delivering a banking experience tailored to those specific needs,” said Elizabeth Osborne, Chief Operations Officer at GLCU. “It’s incredibly rewarding to enable our community to achieve their financial dreams.”
