GLCU Continues Technology Investments with Rollout of AI Bot “Olive”

Great Lakes Credit Union (GLCU) has partnered with Silicon Valley-based interface.ai to introduce “Olive,” a call center bot that leverages conversational AI to route calls, conduct phone banking transactions, and decrease member wait times.
“Members expect a simple banking experience regardless of which channel they choose,” said Elizabeth Osborne, Chief Operations Officer at GLCU. “By introducing Olive, the newest member of the GLCU team, we’re providing that experience for our members and also empowering our employees.”
“By using Olive to help with simpler requests, we’re freeing up our employees to use their skills to assist with more complex transactions,” Osborne added.
Olive, who comes to life on August 23, is just the latest in a series of technology investments made over the last few quarters by the credit union.
GLCU recently invested in Janusea, a financial technology (fintech) company that provides a “universal core translator” to connect credit unions and community banks with today’s fintech solutions.
Additionally, GLCU has partnered with Access Softek to enhance members’ digital banking and online account opening experiences; and has engaged with fintech DoubleCheck Solutions™ to provide members more options and transparency around NSF and overdraft fees. Those solutions will roll out in late 2023.
GLCU is also an investor in the Curql fund, through which the credit union invests in a variety of fintech solutions aimed at improving business outcomes and member experience.
