October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and we are going pink to show our support and raise awareness for this important cause. Breast cancer continues to be one of the leading health risks for women in the United States as one in eight women will be diagnosed in their lifetime. The National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. estimates that about 40,000 will die from breast cancer this year in the U.S. alone.

During the month of October, we’ve created a special version of GLCU’s logo that includes a pink ribbon on our social media accounts and branch TV monitors. All of our retail locations and Corporate Headquarters are displaying pink in both the lighting and outdoor signage. Employees are encouraged to wear pink every Friday of the month to show their support.

In addition, we are excited to announce that GLCU is sponsoring and participating in The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K Walk on October 13, 2019. We are thrilled about the difference that our employees and their families are making to raise awareness.
